Nicole’s Heart Foundation Gives RLVFD AED

Nicole’s Heart donated an AED to our Fire Department. AEDs are used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. They analyze the heart’s rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.  According to the NIH, an estimated 1,700 lives are saved in the United States every year by bystanders using an AED.

Nicole’s Heart Foundation was formed in memory of Nicole Trott, who passed away at age 18 due to an undiagnosed congenital heart defect.

The mission of the Foundation is to raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest.

They have provided free cardiac screenings to over 2500 high school students/athletes and donated many AEDs for communities in need.

Nicole spent time every year with her family and close friends at Risley’s Rush Point in Raquette Lake.

Nicole’s Heart Foundation donated a portable AED to the Raquette Lake Volunteer Fire Department to serve the community.
