The Raquete Lake Fired Department has two operational components:
- Raquette Lake Volunteer Fire Department serves the Raquette Lake area on land, water, ice and snow with a fire engine and tanker, a fireboat, an ambulance and an emergency snowmobile with a patient carrier or fire sled.
- Raquette Lake Ambulance Squad is a part of the all-volunteer Raquette Lake Fire Department. Its 76-mile one-way, ambulance transport to Utica is the longest in the state.
We also participate in Mutual Aid and 911 dispatch to both Hamilton and Herkimer Counties. Donations to the department are used to:
- maintain our firehouse
- pay our operating expenses
- support activities that occur during the year
